Seasons and Areas
ELK areas 125 and 16
Area 125 regular price tag takes 2 pts or more for January draw-Special price tag can be drawn with less than 2 pts in January. However it is around a 50% chance to draw a license in the second draw.
Area 125 offers some of the best possible elk hunts in Carbon County. This area is located near ranch headquarters and the elk are seen on a regular basis while out working. With its large ridges, canyons, and groves of aspen trees elk thrive in this area. Elk hunts are not high up in the timber, but rather down at a lower elevation with sage brush country, open ridges, canyons, and aspen groves.
Area 16 is a great trophy area, with good trophy potential. It has two different bull seasons Type 1 month of October requiring around 16 perference pts. Type 2 month of November requiring 15-17 preference pts.
*Due to high altitude and the steep rocky terrain Peterson Outfitters recommends that hunters be in good physical condition to elk hunt.
